Question for Marker Users.

Hey all you markerish peeps out there. I've been starting to get into the real-media scene lately but I've been having a lot of troubles with how my pictures scan in. They seem to appear very grainy/dirty after I scan them in. I know that flaws in an image always appear more readily when you go from real media to RGB. What I'm wondering is how to reduce the quality loss. Is there any special type of paper for marker drawing? Or even just a type of paper that scans in better all-around?

Also, how do you add color with markers? Do you do your greyscale first then add color lightly over top?

I wanna find this stuff out before I go to the art store and spend all the money that I don't have.

Hello there! The name's Nathan deGruyter! I'm a recent grad of the Art Institute of Vancouuver, with a diploma in 3D modeling for Animation and Games.
